US Senator John McCain accused the Obama administration of withdrawing from Iraq too early and of failing to help the moderate Syrian opposition.
McCain went through a short history of leaving troops behind in places like Korea and Bosnia, and said that the administration pulled “the rug out” from under Iraq by “setting a date for withdrawal and bragging about it.”
"The fact that they didn’t leave a residual force in Iraq, overruling all of his military advisers is the reason why we’re facing ISIS today," he said.
