Lee Pace will guest star on The Mindy Project.
The 35-year-old actor is slated to appear on season three of the Fox comedy. Pace will portray Alex, a character E! Online describes as a "handsome San Francisco tech millionaire who took Mindy's virginity back when he was a dorky college student."
The Mindy Project debuted in 2012, and is currently in its third season. The series follows OB/GYN Mindy Lahiri as she navigates her personal and professional life. Julia Stiles is also scheduled to guest star as a love interest for Morgan Tookers (Ike Barinholtz).
Season three was originally intended to be 15 episodes, but Fox ordered six new episodes of the comedy this week. The series airs Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET, immediately following another network hit, New Girl.
Pace is best known for portraying Ned on ABC series Pushing Daisies, and also appeared in The Good Shepherd, Lincoln and Guardians of the Galaxy. The actor portrayed Thranduil in the first two Hobbit movies, and will reprise the role in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
