What do Oprah Winfrey, Walt Disney and Steve Jobs have in common? They all have a rags-to-riches story that seems like a fairytale. Much like these famous journeys, Joseph Benjamin writes a thrilling adventure of an orphaned boy using his street smarts to make his first million.
In “Dancing with the Devil,” the protagonist, a professional scam artist, learns how to control situations before they control him. In search of his identity, he uses his power and money to help others rise above poverty. The affect of the people he meets on his journey is far greater than he imagined.
“I feel like I am a defender of the poor, and I wanted to create a character that would try to right the wrongs in the world,” Benjamin said.
Benjamin is accustomed to the affluent lifestyle and extreme poverty, which he drew upon when writing the novel. Through the use of adventure, action, suspense and romance, he creates a realistic understanding of society today.
