An asylum-seeker boat carrying 105 people has begun sinking north of the Australian territory of Christmas Island and a rescue operation is under way, officials said Tuesday. The Australian Maritime Safety Authority said it received a request for assistance on Tuesday morning and a navy ship had responded.
