A Jordanian-Swedish joint venture is poised to provide security services to VIPs, individuals, premises, convoys, movable and fixed public and private institutions and foundations as well as tourist sites and natural reserves. The Jordan International Security Company (JoSecure International), a King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) Investment Group company, and Securitas of Sweden signed an agreement on Thursday to establish “Al Mutafawika”, which will also lease armoured vehicles and provide armed protection to cash-in-transit vehicles. \"Jordan is a very interesting market and has a central role in the region. We want to utilise our international experience and that of Jordan in this field in addition to the country\'s experience and ties. This will help us grow,\" Kris Van den Briel, president of Securitas Middle East and South Asia, told reporters after signing the deal. \"We want to expand from Jordan to other countries. We are here to stay,\" he said. Brigadier General Mufareh Tarawneh, chairman of JoSecure International, said Al Mutafawika will protect critical infrastructure and facilities in Jordan and other countries. Noting that Securitas has operations in several parts of the region, he said the new company will be able to penetrate regional markets. According to retired Major General Noran Maaytah, general manager of JoSecure International, the new company will also help in security system installations. \"Securitas has over 280,000 employees and has been in this field for many years. We want to learn, share our expertise and grow together,\" he said. JoSecure was established in 2004 as a Jordanian company fully owned by KADDB to provide security solutions to local and regional customers for personnel and assets protection by utilising the vast experience of veterans and the latest reliable technological systems and equipment. Established in 1934 in Sweden as a local security company, Securitas has grown and expanded worldwide to cover 46 countries on five continents. Its main service offering categories are specialised guarding, mobile security services, monitoring and consulting and investigation services to a wide range of customers in a variety of industries and customer segments, according to a KADDB statement.
