Egypt, China sign cooperation agreement

Egypt and China signed a cooperation agreement that includes 18 projects in the fields of electricity, transport, housing, industry and communications.

Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil and Investment Minister Dalia Khorshid signed the deal with Deputy Director of China's National Development and Reform Commission Ning Jizhe and the vice commerce minister.

During a meeting of the Egyptian-Chinese ministerial committee in Beijing, the two sides agreed on a list of priority projects that will be carried out in Egypt under a Chinese funding.

The two Egyptian ministers also held a meeting with Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission Xu Shaoshi on the need to promote economic and investment ties between Egypt and China in the coming period.

Qabil said the meeting took up an expected visit by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to China in September to attend the G20 Summit.
