Airbus' 2015 order book is better than once thought due to last minute orders

Airbus revised upwards its 2015 net aircraft order book on Tuesday after it received orders very late in December.

Including the 44 last-minute orders, Airbus's book for 2015 now stands at 1,080 aircraft orders, worth $141.6 billion at list prices.

Without counting cancellations, Airbus said that it had a gross 1,190 orders for 2015 worth $159.9 billion.

The planemaker also announced 16 new orders from January, including 14 A330neo, the new version of its long-haul A330-900, and two medium haul A320 aircraft alongside 22 January deliveries.

Airbus unveiled its 20-year Asia forecasts as the Singapore Airshow opened and estimated the region will need 12,800 new jets over the period worth some $2,000 billion.
