German chemical and pharmaceutical group Bayer said Thursday that its second quarter net profit jumped by an annualised 41 percent to 747 million euros ($1.1 billion), exceeding analyst expectations. Bayer maintained its full year forecast for sales of between 36-37 billion euros and core earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) and special items of more than 7.5 billion euros.
