Arbil - Arabstoday
EgyptAir will launch services to Baghdad and Arbil in July after a gap of 21 years. The national carrier, part of Star Alliance, has a two-phase plan to rebuild its network and expand beyond last summer\'s levels. The Iraqi capital will be served by four weekly flights from Cairo starting July 16, according to EgyptAir\'s official website. The Baghdad run was suspended at the end of 1990 as a consequence of the Kuwait invasion. The northern Iraqi business hub, Arbil, capital of the Kurdistan region, will be served by three weekly flights from Cairo starting July 18. Egypt also recently opened its consulate in the Kurdish region. Bookings on both routes, on Airbus A320s, are open. From / Gulf News
