Oman’s benchmark MSM30 Index ended on a stable note at 4,966.65 points, up 0.16 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index gained 0.29 per cent to close at 724.71 points. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. With a gain of 5.71 per cent, Galfar Engineering was the top gainer while NBO was the top loser, down 2.69 per cent.

A total number of 748 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR1.89 million with 14.05 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded securities, 16 advanced 6 declined and 8 remained unchanged. At the end of the trading session, Local Investors remained net buyers for OMR111,000 followed by Foreign Investors for OMR86,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR197,000 worth of shares.

Financial Index closed at 7,128.74 points, up 0.35 per cent. Al Sharqia Investments, Gulf Investment Services, Oman & Emirates Holding, Al Anwar Holding and Al Madina Takaful gained 5.05 per cent, 4.29 per cent, 2.63 per cent, 2.42 per cent and 2.04 per cent respectively. NBO and Bank Dhofar declined 2.69 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively.

Industry Index advanced 0.44 per cent to finish at 6,693.67 points. Galfar Engineering and Oman Fisheries increased 5.71 per cent and 3.54 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Steel and Voltamp Energy lost 1.15 per cent and 0.36 per cent respectively.

 

Services Index ended at 2,510.83 points, up 0.19 per cent. National Gas, OIFC and Ooredoo gained 3.70 per cent, 1.55 per cent and 1.53 per cent respectively. Port Services and Omantel declined 1.12 per cent and 0.86 per cent respectively.
