During his inspection visit to Hashaba Mine, in West of the Jabal locality, the Minister of Minerals, Prof. Hashim Ali Salim has asserted the stability of security situations in the state of Central Darfur, and that it is free from security violations.
The minister who was accompanied during the inspection visit by the Director General of the Corporation of Geological researches, the Director General of the Sudanese Company for Mineral Resources, the Police Director of Mineral Security, and the Governor of the state of Central Darfur, Shartai, Ja'afer Abdul-Hakam, has announced the state enter to the stage of actual production as number 12 for the production of minerals such as gold, lead, copper and chrome, after finishing from the stage of research, exploration and geological mapping.
During his address he called on the local and foreign companies to invest in the state's mining squares, pointing that the ministry will work for the development of the mining process, and shift from tradition to organized mining via opening opportunities for the companies that would work for the economic promotion of the area and to provide work opportunities for its people.
The state's governor on his part, has asserted keenness to provide services through the societal commitment of the companies to work there, and to benefit from mining experiences of the Sudan's mining areas.
The Director of the General Corporation for the Geological Researches, Dr. Mohamed Abu-Fatma announced continuation of exploration, of chemical and geophysical mineralization to identify all the raw materials that are expected to be present in the state, pointing out that the results of the preliminary statements made by the corporation resulted in the existence of a number of other minerals such as copper, chromium, graphite and precious stones.
The Director General of the Sudanese Company of Mineral Resources, Hisham Toufeeq stressed the work to provide equipment for the protection of man and the environment in the area.
During their tour in the state, the visiting delegation to the state of Central Darfur has set the foundation stone of the Sudanese Company for Mineral Resources and the General Authority for Geological Research in the town of Zalingei, besides holding meetings with number of concerned bodies including meeting with the State's Coordinating Council for Mining.
