The launch of the first stage of the Inter-Malian inclusive dialogue Wednesday in Algiers, at Algeria’s initiative, takes place in “more than favourable” conditions to achieve lasting peace and stability in Mali, said Tuesday international representatives.
The current conditions for the launch of the first stage of the Inter-Malian dialogue is more than favourable, said the European Union Special Representative for the Sahel Michel Reveyrand at the end of the audience granted to him by Foreign Affairs Minister Ramtane Lamamra, on the sidelines of the 5th session of the Algerian-Malian bilateral strategic committee on Northern-Mali.
For his part, the African Union High Representative for Mali and Sahel Pierre Buyoya said that the Algerian initiative is thought as a unique opportunity for the Malians to make peace.
Head of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) Bert Koenders hailed the Algerian initiative aimed at helping the Malians to make peace and stability, underlining the “real” willingness of the government and the North’s armed groups to reach them.
