The blast took place in the vegetable market located in Parachinar

At least 12 people were killed and 35 others injured when a landmine exploded in a vegetable market in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday morning.

The blast took place at 8:50am when dozens of people were busy shopping in the vegetable market located in Parachinar area, a tribal area along Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital where several of them are said to be in critical condition.

Security forces cordoned off the area for investigations. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
