Dubai - Arab Today
Emirati-Yemeni singer Balqiess Fathi shined onstage at Dubai’s Global Village as she sang some of her best-known songs, making it a night to remember.
Fathi made a show-stopping entry on stage dressed in an all-white ensemble. Her hairstyle reminded many of Disney’s Mickey Mouse.
The singer said she was happy to perform at the jam-packed Dubai venue and thanked the audience members for their presence and lively interaction.
She also thanked the management of the Global Village and Platinum Records.
Her latest album comprises 12 melodies in Yemeni, Iraqi and Lebanese dialects, in addition to classical Arabic.
The album is produced by Fathi herself and will be released on YouTube later this month.
Award-winning Fathi is one of the Arab world’s biggest names in music and a highly successful social media influencer.
Her 2013 inaugural album titled “Majnoun” stormed the charts and accumulated a staggering 16 million views on YouTube. Released in 2015, her second album — titled “Zay Ma Ana” — also swept social media and emerged as the most downloaded album on iTunes Middle East.
