Geneva - MENA
A new international report revealed that more than 191,000 people have died and one million others have been injured since the Syrian conflict began four years ago.
The toll continues to rise, the Handicap International report, issued on Monday, said.
Tens of thousands of victims now require orthopaedic-fitting and rehabilitation care, the report added.
An entire generation of injured and maimed people need immediate and long-term care, the report said.
Handicap International has deployed 600 people in the field as part of its response – the largest and most complex in its history, the report added.
Handicap International is already working in four countries (Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria) to provide orthopaedic fitting and equipment to care for the injured.
