The Syrian Army said it has killed a large number of \'foreign terrorists\' in the Northwestern governorate of Idlib.On Friday, the army said it killed many Jabhat al-Nusra-linked militants in Maaret al-Numan in Idlib and seized their weapons, the official SANA news agency reported.A unit of the Syrian Army also killed many militants in the villages of al-Amoudiyeh and Heesh in the governorate.Abdul-Razzaq Omar al-Zouzo, leader of the Khattab Battalion, Abdul-Hamid Hikmat al-Badawi, leader of the Al-Tawhid Brigade, and Abo al-Saad, leader of the Al-Khadraa Battalion were identified among the dead.Government troops also destroyed a missile launching base in Ma\'r Shamshi village of Idlib and \"eliminated a large number of terrorists\".Syrian government forces also launched attacks against militants in the governorates of Damascus, Aleppo, Hama, and Lattakia on Friday and killed a large number of them.In addition, the Syrian armed forces captured many machine guns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, hand-made rockets, mortar shells, and anti-tank missiles.Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against the Syrian police, border guards, statesmen, army and the civilians being reported across the country.Thousands of people have been killed since terrorist and armed groups turned protest rallies into armed clashes.The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.
