Kuala Lumpur – WAM

The International and Private School Education Forum, IPSEF, which concluded on Friday in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, discussed the UAE's experience in upgrading the international private school education system.

This came at IPSEF discussion session, with participation from government agencies in charge of private education from four cities: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.

Among those present were Dr. Abdullah Al Karam, Chairman of Board of Directors, Director-General of Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority, and Dr. Tariq Al Ameri, ADEC’s Business Development Manager.

Abdullah Al Karam said that the UAE's economic growth in terms of its advanced infrastructure has positively impacted the private education sector in Dubai, where 90 percent of students receive education at private sector schools following 17 various curricula.

He added that the authority focusses on providing various opportunities for guardians of new students at new schools while keeping an eye on upgrading the quality of education in 185 private schools in Dubai.

Dr. Al Ameri referred to the important role of the private education sector and quality assurance across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, with a focus on wooing investors and expanding the capacity of schools, which offer different curricula to serve all categories of the society.

IPSEF Asia is an important and well-established regional conference. Consisting of two days of stimulating presentations, plenty of practical case studies showcasing best practices from schools, a full day of school visits, and a relaxed networking reception, participants left inspired and connected to high-level contacts across the education industry.

Speakers brought knowledge and perspectives from across Asia, including China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea and Thailand, with global perspectives from the UAE and South Africa.

IPSEF’s audience consists of a wide range of stakeholders involved in new school operations, from schools and investors to the suppliers and regulators. Participants are senior figures from schools, usually heads or owners, as well senior managers from industry, national or regional regulators.
