The Ambassador inspected the conditions of the Kuwaiti students at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences and the College of Graduate Studies of AGU. He met with the newly admitted students for the academic year 2017-2018 and discussed a number of topics with them, mainly the provision of basic necessities of accommodation, monthly allowances and health insurance, in addition to facilitations of communication services and support for ticket prices, and promoting the role of the cultural attaché.

Shaikh Azzam Al-Sabah said that the conditions of students at AGU call for pride, due to the advanced scientific level and academic achievement they enjoy thanks to the efforts of the university's administration. AGU is a model academic and scientific establishment, due to its positive outcomes that contribute to the health development process in the State of Kuwait and the entire Gulf, representing Gulf unity in every sense.

Shaikh Azzam Al-Sabah stressed that addressing the needs of Kuwaiti students at AGU is one of his responsibilities and priorities. He said: "We are keen to follow up on students and encourage them to continue their achievements and excellence in in various fields of education," indicating the university administration’s eagerness to oversee their affairs and meet their needs at all times, providing an academic atmosphere suitable for students over the past few decades.

For his part, President of AGU, Dr Khalid Abdul Rahman Al-Ohaly, praised Kuwait’s leading role in supporting the university over the past 37 years, since its foundation stage, stating that this reflects keenness on the continuity of the university's work as an educational system that unites the citizens of the Gulf under one umbrella. He expressed his pride in the university’s Kuwaiti students, who make up about a third of the total number of students.
Meanwhile, His Excellency the Ambassador attended a brief presentation on AGU’s role as a regional university which is owned, funded and managed by GCC countries. He was given an overview of the medical, technical and educational programmes offered by the university, in addition to the nature of the university’s cooperation programmes with Gulf governmental institutions and international institutions such as the World Health Organisation and the United Nations Environment Programme, as well as cooperation with International universities such as ASEC and Boston College, and cooperation with the international private sector.
