Etihad Museum
Dubai - WAM

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, known as Dubai Culture, the Emirate's dedicated agency for culture, arts and heritage, announced the administrative staff appointments for Dubai’s new Etihad Museum, which was recently inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Among the appointments include Abdullah Mohammed Al Falasi, Director of Etihad Museum, who will report directly to Dubai Culture. He will oversee the museum’s 40 employees and be supported by Khulood Al Nuaimi, Manager of Project Section and Acting Manager of the Public Relations Section, Hana Saleh, Manager of Programmes and Visitor Engagement, and Mohammed Al Hebsi, Manager of the Exhibitions and Collections Section.

"We welcome the new museum team, working under the leadership of Abdullah Mohammed Al Falasi, and we know that this capable team has the positive spirit necessary to deliver the museum’s core vision and mission as a dynamic cultural destination with 21st century characteristics. The new Etihad Museum team has a responsibility to help inspire citizens and visitors from around the world, and ensure that exhibits not only convey the founding story of the United Arab Emirates, but also that the status of the museum is consolidated as a reliable source of historical and national information and heritage, through its documents, pictures and private collections,'' said Saeed Al Nabouda, Acting Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.

''The museum will be an essential destination for researchers and historians, and will provide future generations in the UAE with valuable knowledge to support their academic and social lives, as well as boosting their national identity," he added.

Al Falasi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and majored in International Affairs at the University of Colorado, USA. He will be responsible for managing the museum team, providing guidance and supervision to all three museum sections, and will focus on improving the visitor experience in order to contribute to enriching Dubai’s cultural and artistic community, and help preserve the UAE’s national identity.

Etihad Museum focuses on the political history and personal stories relating to events that led to the UAE Union’s creation. Through photos, films, documents and collections that chronicle the journey from 1968 until 1974, visitors can experience the course of a critical phase in the UAE’s history.

Dubai Culture is responsible for managing and supervising all of the Emirate’s museum and heritage sites, as well as preserving their historical and cultural significance. Furthermore, the Authority oversees all of the museums’ daily operations, and the development of educational initiatives that enhance the learning experience. For this flagship UAE project, the Authority is responsible for the day-to-day management of the museum, the development of educational programmes, and the creation of permanent and temporary exhibitions.
