Lebanese Singer Assy Al Helani expressed his pride for receiving his Palestinian passport upon a decision from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. He added that he took his passport from member of Fatah’s Central Committee Jamil Al Rajoob.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, “I sang for the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli prisons and I filmed the song as a video clip. It makes me proud to present this song which expresses the feelings of all Arab people.”
He stressed his pleasure for gaining the Palestinian citizenship, expressing his appreciation to the initiative adopted by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. He added, “I aspire to the release of all Palestinian prisoners imprisoned in the Palestinian prisons. We should deliver clear messages though our artistic works that should not be limited to the romantic side, while it should extend to the national side.”
