The Environment signed a cooperation protocol with the Foreign Ministry, the UN Development Program and the Global Environment Facility (GIF) in the e-waste domain, said Environment Minister Khaled Fahmi on Wednesday.
Fahmi told MENA that the protocol aims at studying the recycling of electronic waste through dismantling electronic parts and benefiting from each part.
He unveiled another protocol with the Communications Ministry to ban e-waste trade and importing discarded electronic devices from abroad.
Any waste treatments system is based on segregation, collection and disposal or recycling, he said, warning that the collapse of one of these elements threaten the entire mechanism.
