The Libyan War Information Division announced, on Friday, that a force, belongs to "Omar El Mukhtar" operations room, carried out a qualitative operation in the stronghold of terrorists inside Chinese buildings in the city of Derna, resulting in a huge explosion heard throughout the city. The explosion left dozens of terrorists killed and many wounded.
Libyan news agency in al-Bayda said that the operation was carried out on the instructions of the commander of "Omar El Mukhtar" operations room, Brigadier Salem Miftah al-Rafadi, and explained that it resulted in the explosion of a weapons store belonging to Shura Council of Mujahideen in Derna(SCMD). The agency added that three militants, belonging to the terrorist organization, killed, one of them is an Egyptian.
On the other hand, the Libyan navy announced, on Thursday, the prevention of any foreign ship of the relief of migrants off the coast of Libya, except at the express request of its authorities. Libya has officially established a search and rescue zone," Tripoli's navy chief Abdul Karim Buhliya told a news conference, stressing that no foreign ship has access to territorial waters unless there is a clear request from the Libyan authorities.
The commander of the naval base in Tripoli, Abdul Karim Bouheliyh, said in a news conference, said that Libya has officially established a search and rescue area, stressing that no foreign ship is entitled to enter the territorial waters only with a clear request from the Libyan authorities.
Libyan naval spokesman Brigadier General Ayoub Kassem, said the decision clearly targeting the international non-governmental organizations that claim to be working to save illegal immigrants and for human rights.
The announcement comes from Libyan authorities loyal to Fayez al-Sarraj, head of Libya's national reconciliation government in Tripoli, which the international community recognizes.
In another context, UNICEF Regional Director, Gert Kabillar, said that more than half a million children in Libya urgently need humanitarian assistance against the background of political and social instability in the country.
"In the six years since the crisis began in Libya, there are more than 550,000 children in need of assistance due to instability, ongoing conflict and economic collapse," Kabillar said in a statement issued on Thursday.
The UN official pointed out that more than 80 thousand children are considered displaced within Libya, stressing that migrant children are particularly vulnerable to exploitation and violence against them. Kabillar said UNICEF plans to extend the daily working hours of its employees in Libya.
