Syria attacks
Damascus - Noura Khowam

In the town of Izzaz, near the Syrian-Turkish border, a number of wounded were injured, including a child, while the areas of control of these forces were bombarded by Turkish forces. They targeted the areas of Karmil, Hassajk, And other areas controlled by the "Syrian Democratic Forces", causing a number of wounded.

Two fighters of the Sunni tribal mobilization forces were wounded in two bomb blasts in east of Diyala province, a local source said. Speaking to AlSumaria News on Friday, the source said “two tribal fighters were wounded as two bombs exploded consecutively on an agricultural road near Sherwin basin, 45 KM east of Baqubah.” Earlier on Friday, four members of one family were wounded in a bomb blast that occurred northeast of Diyala.

Attacks launched by Islamic State militants against security troops, the pro-government forces and civilians surged over the past few weeks in northeast of Diyala, which urge the Iraqi forces to prevent the militants infiltration between Salahuddin and Kirkuk provinces, especially the regions stretching along Hamreen mountains and Al-Azeem town.

IS holds pivotal regions that link between each of Diyala, Salahuddin and Kirkuk, posing threats to the liberated regions. More than 700 Iraqis were killed and wounded during the month of June as result of violence and armed conflicts, according to a monthly count by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) which excludes security members deaths. Baghdad ranked the second place with 22 deaths and 88 injuries.

According to observers, IS is believed to constitute a security threat even after the group’s defeat at its main havens across Iraqi provinces. Syrian opposition fighters managed, on Thursday, to foil an extensive attack launched by the regime forces on the outskirts of Ayn Tarma Village, in the eastern countryside of Damascus.

Qasioun News reported that the Syrian rebels foiled the regime forces’ attack on the outskirts of Ayn Tarma Village, in the eastern countryside of Damascus, destroying a T72 tank. The Syrian opposition also revealed that its fighters managed to kill 15 members of the Syrian regime forces, during the ongoing battles in the area.

Meanwhile, Army Aviation carried out several air strike on Kafr Batna and Arbyeen cities in the countryside of Damascus, causing only material damage to the area. Furthermore, Army Aviation renewed its air strikes on Tal Barda’ya area in al-Sheikh Mountain, in addition to artillery shelling conducted by the army forces on the area. It is noteworthy that regime is escalating its military campaign on the countryside of Damascus, in order to retake the rebels-held areas, especially Ayn Tarma Village.

Syrian rebels managed, on Thursday, to destroy a military headquarters belonging to the Syrian regime, in the Syrian Badiya, in the countryside of Damascus.

Qasioun News reported that the rebels destroyed the leadership and communications headquarters of the Syrian regime, located between Umm Remm and Kharbet Sees in the Syrian Badiya, after security forces from Martyr Ahmed Abdo Battalion and Jaish Usud al-Sharqiyah shelled the area using heavy artillery.

Large number of the Syrian government forces were either killed or wounded in the attack, while five military vehicles were destroyed completely, Qasioun News added. Meanwhile, Russian warplanes carried out air strikes on the vicinity of Be’r al-Mahroutha, Sareyat Jalighm and Khebrat Fakka in the Syrian Badiyah, but no casualties were reported.

It is noteworthy, Syrian rebels managed in the last few days to retake several areas from the regime forces, backed by foreign militias, in the Syrian Badiyah.
