The Egyptian embassy here held late Thursday a ceremony for promoting Ambassador Moushira Khattab's nomination to the UNESCO top post.
Egyptian Ambassador in Paris and permanent envoy to UNESCO Ihab Badawi received during the ceremony top French, Arab and foreign officials as well as representatives from local and foreign media.
During the ceremony, Khattab said she depended on her experience as a diplomat and UN expert in formulating her vision on UNESCO's future if she is elected as the UNESCO secretary general.
She noted that she served as an ambassador in several countries, considering her missions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and South Africa as turning points in her career.
Khattab added that she spent 15 years in serving marginalized social strata as a state minister for family and population affairs and as an expert at a UN human rights committee.
Khattab arrived in Paris on Wednesday for talks with several officials to promote her nomination to the UNESCO top post.
