Two Taliban senior commanders are among the 10 militants killed in the eastern Wardak province on Sunday, spokesman for provincial government Abdul Rahman Mangal said.
"Acting on a tipoff, the security forces stormed a Taliban hideout in Sayed Abad district early today morning, killing 10 rebels including notorious commanders Qari Najibullah alias Rahbar and Mawlawi Waris alias Abas on the spot," Mangal told Xinhua.
Taliban militants who are in control of parts of the relatively troubled Wardak province are yet to make comment.
