The plans for Al Masoura project is set to transform the town of Awamiya in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia into a model neighborhood.
The project will take two years to complete and will include shops and a retail mall, a cultural complex as well as, archaeological areas and a public library.
The development will also include a public market, a gymnasium for children and a women's club, as well as cafeterias, restaurants and banquet halls for men and women.
Officials presented their visual concept for the redevelopment project of the neighborhood during a press conference on Wednesday.
The Undersecretary for Construction and Projects, Engineer Essam Al Mulla, told Al Arabiya that the project “will make a quantum leap in urban development.”
The project is one of the most important development projects in the governorate. The first phase of the project will be begin after the completion of all the demolition work, which has already started.
