The Hong Kong Observatory raised its storm warning signal to the highest level on Wednesday morning as Typhoon Hato approaches the Asian financial hub, according to Deutsche Presse-Agentur, DPA.
The warning is expected to remain in force for several hours and members of the public have been urged to stay where they are if they are safe and be prepared for destructive winds, possible flooding and landslides.
