H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Interior, MoI, and the University of Southern California, USC, at the ministry’s headquarters, that aims to provide qualitative education and exchange the latest practices to elevate the education process and academic training, to serve the work of the police.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the ministry by Lt. General Saif Al Sha’far, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Interior, and for the USC by Dr. Karen Gallagher, the Dean of the Rossier School of Education at the USC.
The MoU will strengthen academic co-operation on both sides, and the exchange of expertise and knowledge in scientific research and professional development. It will also enable both sides to benefit from the best practices in developing institutional work.
It will allow the exchange of opinions about providing qualitative education, the latest practices to elevate the education process, and co-operation to conduct advanced research in the field of police and security sciences. It will also strengthen scientific and academic expertise in the MoI.
The MoU also focusses on placing and applying formulas for learning and effective educational foundations, as well as determining, applying and evaluating the methods of curriculum and teaching. It will also focus on exchanging best practices and research about education and organisational efficiency, creating professional and responsible educational communities, and helping the teaching authority to design and execute effective educational programmes for languages and evaluating student needs.
