Security forces from Somalia's Jubabland State on Wednesday arrested three Al-Shabaab terrorists during an operation conducted in Dhobley town in southern part of the Horn of Africa nation.
Haybe Ahmed Abdullahi, Jubbaland State forces Commander for Dhobley town told reporters that the insurgents were planning to carry out explosive attacks in the town.
"We learned of possible terrorist attack here in Dhobley, we got an alert and began operations. We captured three Al-Shabaab members from the vehicle that came from Sakow town in Middle Jubba region. They wanted to carry out attacks in the town," Abdulahi said.
He said that African Union forces' Kenya Defence Force (KDF) helped them to defuse explosive elements in which they seized from Al-Shabaab fighters.
Dhobley town is located at the Somali border with Kenya and is one of the towns which have enjoyed relative peace in the southern Somalia.
