The Kingdom’s parliamentary delegation will participate in the Fourth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, set to be held at United Nations Headquarters in New York from Monday 31 August to Wednesday, 2 September 2015.
The conference will focus on peace, democracy, sustainable development and combating terrorism.
In this regard, Speaker of the Representatives Council Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla said that the Bahraini delegation would coordinate and cooperate with its Arab and friendly counterparts to press for a global parliamentary stance to reject foreign interference in the domestic affairs of countries and stress the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and respect for international principles in order to enhance development and foster peace.
The delegation will leave for New York tomorrow, and will be led by the Speaker of the Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla.
It also comprises First Deputy Speaker MP Ali Abdulla Al Aradi, the Deputy Chairman of the delegation, and Shura Council’s First Deputy Chairman Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, Chairman of the Representatives Council’s Financial and Economic Affairs Committee Isa Abdul-Jabbar Al-Kohaji and Shura member Dr. Ahmed Salim Al-Arayad as members.
The delegation also includes Dr. Fawziy Youssif Al-Jeeb from the Shura Council Secretariat-General.
