The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, distributed food baskets to the underprivileged and low-income families in Ghayl Bin Yamin District, Governorate of Hadramaut, on Saturday, as part of the UAE's humanitarian and relief strategy to improve the living conditions of the people in Yemen.
The district is experiencing difficult living conditions, despite its rich oil and natural resources. The condition of hospitals, schools, roads and telecommunications, as well as water, electricity and sanitary services, have deteriorated significantly.
Ahmed Al Neyadi, Deputy Head of the ERC team in Hadramaut, said the UAE relief agency is making relentless efforts to reach out to as many needy people as it can to ease their suffering.
"We will continue our relief operations to cover as many people as we can," he affirmed.
Yemin Mohammed Al Duweila, Director-General of the district, said the much needed UAE relief assistance had eased the hardship of the people in the district.
The beneficiaries thanked the ERC for the timely delivery of humanitarian assistance at a time of economic hardships and lack of job opportunities.
