The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has provided 36,000 litres of diesel fuel to the Public Corporation for Electricity, PCE, in the Yemeni governorate of Shabwa.
The diesel shipment is intended to improve power generation and supply electricity to more than 45,000 households in Shabwa.
Delivering the fuel at the PCE's power station in Shabwa, the Head of the ERC team said they will continue providing relief aid, while working to improve the infrastructure in Shabwa, as part of the UAE's aid programme in the governorate.
Shaikh Ali Muhsin Al Sulaimani, Under-Secretary of the Governorate of Shabwa for Martyrs and Wounded Affairs, thanked the UAE and its representative of the ERC for their efforts to ease the suffering of the people.
He also expressed his gratitude for the essential support provided to them through various rescue and infrastructure projects, as well as humanitarian and development programmes.
