Qatar’s Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al-Thani has said that his main goals of meeting Saudi Arabia’s leadership were to facilitate the affairs of Qatari pilgrims for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage, as well as to coordinate the visits of Qatari citizens with their relatives based in Saudi Arabia.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali said took to Twitter on Sunday to post a statement in which he said that he did not offer any personal matters to either King Salman or Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, emphasizing the latter’s eagerness regarding his mediation efforts amid an ongoing diplomatic boycott between the two countries.
The Qatari sheikh also referred to the generosity of Saudi King Salman, not only of accepting his request for mediation, but also immediately ordering the establishment of a special operations room that would operate around the clock to serve the Qatari people and place them under his supervision.
