The UAE Ministry of Interior’s Anti-Human Trafficking Committee has discussed its operational plan and its accomplishments during the first half of 2017.
The Committee held its meeting, headed by Colonel Mubarak Awadh Mubarak bin Muhairom Al Ameri, Director-General of Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Anti-Human Trafficking Committee, at the headquarters of the General Directorate, to review its accomplishments, with the aim of adopting the best operational practices.
During the meeting, a presentation was held to demonstrate the means of promoting the role of the Anti-Human Trafficking Committee in strengthening the UAE’s efforts, represented by the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, to prevent this inhumane crime and preserve the UAE’s high-principled record in promoting and protecting human rights.
Committee members highlighted the primary preventative procedures to combat human trafficking, reviewing and benefiting from best international practices and organising workshops to raise community awareness about its dangers, as well as other policies to limit such crimes.
