Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed al-Jaber, said on Monday that the crimes committed by the Houthis are due in large part to their “Iranian education”.
Al-Jaber’s comments come after Al Arabiya sources confirmed that former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh was killed during a fierce clash on Monday with Houthi militias in Sanaa.
Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi called on Yemenis on Monday to rise up against the Iran-aligned Houthis after Saleh’s death.
Speaking in a speech carried live on Al Arabiya News Channel, Hadi also called for a new chapter in the fight against the Houthis, who were allied with Saleh before he turned on them and offered to back the Saudi-led coalition.
