Dr. Matar Hamed Al Neyadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy, headed a UAE delegation participating in the Asia Cooperation Dialogue, ACD, Summit hosted by the Philippines from 7th to 10th August in the island of Bohol, Philippines.
The summit is part of the initiative of the Philippines’ Department of Energy under the theme 'Towards Energy Security, Sustainability and Resiliency'. It is in line with the energy work plan adopted by the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting in Abu Dhabi last January.
In a speech during the summit proceedings, Dr. Al Neyadi spoke about the connection between energy, water, and food, and the importance of coordination when formulating policies for these three sectors to achieve balance and guarantee sustainability for future generations.
He emphasised the importance of Asia in energy, food and water, and spoke about the necessity of strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise between Asian countries to benefit from success stories, experiments and opportunities to achieve sustainability. The ADC Summit is an important platform to enhance collaboration between member countries in different fields, including energy, Al Neyadi added.
The undersecretary concluded his speech by extending an initiation on behalf of the Minister of Energy and the Chairman of the World Energy Congress to the member countries of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit to participate in the World Energy Congress, to be held in Abu Dhabi in September 2019.
