Pakistan said Sunday that death toll from Indian forces' "unprovoked firing" across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir region has risen to five.

Pakistan's military and the Foreign Ministry had earlier confirmed that at least two people, including a girl, were killed in the latest cross-LoC shelling on Saturday.

A spokesman of the Foreign Ministry said Sunday that three more people, including two women, died later in Tetri Note and Chaffar villages while one person was injured.

Director General of the South Asian desk at the Foreign Ministry Mohammad Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J. P. Singh on Sunday and condemned the further "unprovoked ceasefire violations" by the Indian forces, a statement said.

"The deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws," Faisal told the Indian envoy, according to the statement.

Pakistan and India declared ceasefire along the LoC in 2003. However, both routinely accuse each other of violation.
