At least 14 civilians were killed and 32 others wounded on Monday in a U.S.-led airstrike in Syria's eastern city of Deir al-Zour, the state TV reported.
The strike targeted the government-controlled Al-Qosoor neighborhood in the city, said the report.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the identity of the warplanes, which carried out the airstrike, is unknown.
The United States has been backing the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in their push to drive out the Islamic State (IS) militants from areas in the northern countryside of Deir al-Zour.
Meanwhile, the government forces continued to advance against IS in the southeastern countryside of Deir al-Zour, after stripping IS of the al-Mayadeen city, one of the IS key strongholds in Deir al-Zour province.
