His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, led Bahrain Triathlon Team’s training sessions ahead of the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain, which will be hosted by Bahrain on November 25, 2017.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa held training drills in cycling, in addition to running with the participation of members of the team. These exercises are part of the technical plan set by His Highness to reach the team to its full readiness before participating in the Championship, in which His Highness hopes Bahrain Triathlon Team will continue its strong performances in the Ironman Championships.
The IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship is expected to feature a strong competition with the participation of a large pool of professional and amateur athletes who also include world champions.
The Championship is composed of three contests; a swimming competition that will be held in Bahrain Bay for a distance of 1.9 km, a 90km-cycling race and a 21.1km-running contest. The Organising Committee has planned the course of the three competitions to pass through the urban, developmental and heritage areas in the Kingdom to introduce participants to the renaissance of ancient and contemporary Bahrain, which are one of the goals of the Championship.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his hopes that the Bahrain Triathlon Team's participation in the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain would be fruitful, stating that achieving a positive result would help the team in its future participations.
His Highness added that the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship is one of the most prestigious competitions worldwide, as the participants who take part in this event produce maximum efforts to
to achieve advanced positions in the competition.
